North Pend Oreille County Citizens take on Smokey the Fibbing Bear.

Recently it came to light that the Forrest Service Ranger Gyna Sears and her coworker Nan Burger declared a road in Pend Oreille County was closed.

Not just closed to ATVs and dirt bikes but to all licensed street vehicles!

The above named shared a letter that was sent to Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers office supposedly signed by many conservation groups and ATV clubs.

More on that in a moment.

This road historically was farm to market road long before SR 31 was put in along the Pend Oreille River valley in North Pend Oreille County Washington.

The road runs from Ione Washington to Metaline Washington under high power transmission lines from Boundary Dam Seattle City Light Project.

These roads are also used for maintenance of the towers, lines, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, jogging, cross country running, hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking.

The map and legend in photos above are from former Pend Oreille County Commissioner

Ken Oliver. They show the road open for use as a county road.

Oliver spent much of his term in office working to open roads all over the county to ATV use.

Other Forrest Service and county maps show it as county road.

Many copies from many earlier years are in the possession of locals.

One of my friends asked as she did my research on this story,
What if we told Forrest Service they have no authority here in Pend Oreille County?

She continued,
The Constitution gives the federal government the authority to police exactly four areas: treason, piracy, treaty violations and counterfeiting. The other 5,000 they’ve stolen and usurped from state and local authorities. The very people who have promised us they will protect and defend the Constitution are the ones who are destroying it.”
In the opinion of many in this county, it should be under county control and no Federal or State lands should be in the county, unless they are county managed lands.
The county should also be open to adventure activity businesses and be free from liability of adventure seekers who get injured.
The jobs it would create locally, the tourism jobs and businesses that would be attracted to the county, the taxes that would stay local from power generation and timber harvest would be incredible!

She credits Tenth Amendment Center with her knowledge and the original facts quoted.

Back to that letter.

I have contacted the ATV clubs who signed on to the above pictured letter.

Named is sketchy as their logos where their signatures.  I am sure the organization logos were used to lend some sort of authority.

Those logos were just copied off the internet.

In one case the logo is not even associated with the person or organization that signed and the logo belongs to another group.

In other words the ATV clubs DID NOT SIGN this letter.

AGAIN I have contacted each club, and just to be clear they did not sign!

On the east side of the Pend Oreille River river we have two road options they are, Sullivan Lake Road and the Farm to Market road that runs down the east side of the river.
During a recent slide the two northern towns realized they could be cut off,  and citizens have urged action to preserve access to these roads and in and out of the communities.

Local fire commissioners have determined an emergency route between towns is needed and this supposedly closed road near Ione is the link between them on the west side of the river.

Here is how the story started.

Last year someone posted a video taken during a ride of people running through the mud hole in the below linked story.

This is the story that started the lies and persecution of the local club.
The author deliberately showed the ride poster causing the group to be the targeted.

http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/colville/news-events/?cid=STELPRD3841092
The Spokesman Review published the story and trashed the reputation of a club that has helps many people facing high medical bills while fighting cancer, with the funds it raises on this ride.

Immediately following that story:

  • No one cared that this place has been used for recreation for more than 60 years.
  • No one cared that the Forrest Service fraudulently moved their boundaries to encompass the land after the fact.
  • No one wanted to hear that this club cleans 1000s of lbs. of garbage off this county land and county road and that if it was the Forrest Services land they were not taking care of it.
  • No one cared that the club made arrangements with the Forrest Service to replant the muddied area and then, the Forrest Service did not bother to call the club till they were already in Ione with the seed to do repairs.  You see all the club members were at work!
  • Imagine! Responsible people working for a living.
  • No one cared that the club members were speaking to the Forrest Ranger within days of the incident and showing the Forrest Service that the county and FS maps show the road as COUNTY.

Meaning the Forrest Service had no jurisdiction over the muddied land or road.

But still insisted the club apply for a permit to use the road.

Now here is where you should care.

Somehow the road has disappeared off of newest Forrest Service maps and county maps.
How did this happen and who allowed it?

When Nan Berger and Gyna Sears finally met with locals only days before this year’s poker run fundraiser after being asked to meet with them for more then SIX MONTHS on the permit issue.
Gyna Sears would not even take 15 minutes to run out to the road in question.
Her statement was the road is not on Forrest Service Maps it does not exist and is therefore closed.

She could of granted a one day exemption to allow the fund raiser to continue while the issue was worked out.

When Gyna Sears left the meeting with the local ATV club just before the cancer fundraiser poker run, she gave them 24 hours to jump through some hoops she suggested and agreed to.
She contacted the ATV club less than 12 hours later at 9AM and told them their permit including no exemption, would not be approved.

DID She lie?

Let me be very clear. I think she LIED.

Jim Pena and Laura Jo West are the up the ladder bosses of Gyna Sear and Nan Burger.

Rumor has it Laura Jo West is off to Arizona soon because of a job promotion.
I think North Pend Oreille County should send her off with a bang and make her work life MISERABLE.

Please read here what her boss Jim Pena had to say about her transfer:
When West’s selection was announced, Pacific Northwest Regional Forester Jim Pena said, “Laura Jo has done an outstanding job on the Colville, establishing close ties with the community and working extremely well with the public.   Her broad expertise in land management issues, including her outstanding work with collaboration and restoration, make Laura Jo an ideal fit for the Coconino National Forest.”

Laura Jo West out right LIED to locals about camp ground closures on Sullivan Creek

blaming a national trail organization for an area being closed for the entire camping season!

According to the Trail Associations National Offices they will be in the forest for just two days of work and the beginning and end staging that goes along with it at the end of June.

Local volunteers for the Trail association wonder why a positive PR spin could not have been put on the information posted by the Forrest Service saying the campground was closed for a short time for trail crew and volunteer maintenance.  Even a suggestion of if you would like to volunteer please contact______________ would of been great for the trail association, Community and the Forrest Service.

Let's face it. Smokey the Bear is no longer the loved,

trustworthy fire prevention bear.

He is the Nazi uniform wearing, jack booted thug grizzly, with

his huge vise like paw around the local ranchers and farmers

throat.

His snout and teeth covered with the blood of the American

hunter and land owners.

His hind feet covered in the bloody pulp of the American

loggers, campers, 4 wheelers, hikers and tax payer.

It is no wonder Smokey the Bear is BoOoOed across the country in appearance after parade after school event.

TODAY 6/15/2015

Two energetic people from NPOC went down to the County Court House in Newport  to search the archives of meeting minutes and the older maps of the county.

They had been told helpfully by County Commissioner Mike Manus that they would have to go to Cheney to a larger archive to find the information they were looking for.
Sadly he was not well informed as to the county archives location.
It was right in the county court house.

Many meeting minutes were searched and copied.
In one meeting minutes copied it looks like past Pend Oreille County Commissioners were for the ATV licensing and for part of the funds from those licenses to go to the Y2Y or Yukon to Yellowstone.
This organization wants to close the forest to everyone from Alaska to Wyoming.
This is also a huge part of the United Nations agenda to control access to land in the USA.
So in essence ATVers are helping pay for, through this forced licensing, the group that is taking away all our rights and access to the forest.

This is the same agenda that is forcing the tearing out of dams including the Mill Pond Historic Site and Dam in North Pend Oreille County.
It also includes the use of the bull trout habitat restoration to take control of water rights and access in all of the Western United States.  (For a bit more information on the Mill Pond issue you might want to start with www.facebook.com/savemillpond
This page was started by 15 year old young man a few years ago, to try to save a place he loves.
It has not received much attention but is an important part of local history and recreation.

While waiting for copies of meeting minutes one of our energetic NPOC people wandered the

hallway and entry of the county court house.

He happened to look at a very interesting time capsule display from the beginnings of this

great county of Pend Oreille.  He then noticed a map in the display and his interest was piqued

to the point of ecstasy when he looked at the Ione area on this historic official county

document.

Low and behold you’re not going to believe what it showed on the HISTORIC, TIME

CAPSULE county map!

This map the county’s own employees in the Geographic Information Systems could not find

any digital or hard copy.  They did not know where to even look.  Their only response was I

don't know to every questions put before them.

This historic map shows the road in question as a county road.

To all you ATVers, Four wheelers, hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and citizens of Pend Oreille County.  This is your road.
Ride it.
Use it.
Keep it clean.
Don’t let them take it or any other area away from you.

It’s time for the Forrest Service to go.
Get out of Pend Oreille!

It is also time for some of their people to be fired over these lies.

I would also suggest the citizens of Pend Oreille County look back into those meeting minutes not all of them are at the archives as there are some on video and audio that no written minutes were taken. There was mention of them in the meeting notes copied today from county archives.

Your county is being given to the federal government.  Closed of from your reach.

Speak up now or lose it forever.

I think many well worded or just quick emails that say your

personal thoughts on the matter would be good to the people

below.

US FORREST SERVICE Jim Pena jpena@fs.fed.us

US FORREST SERVICE Laura Jo West ljwest@fs.fed.us

I also think a few videos from the people by the people declaring that the road is open and will

be used is a must.

Social media is a powerful tool.

UPADTED 3:07 pm 6 16 15

Local lady shared this from the Trail Association  blamed by FS for the closure of the campgrounds.

There is not going to be any closure of the campgrounds due to the work that the PNTA will be doing.  The USFS will be sending me something to that regard and I’ll forward it to you.

Our crew may take up one of the campsites for the duration of the project and they may be some disruptions at the access point by the bridge, but we won’t be shutting down the campground.

I will share more with you as it become available.
