Date: July 11, 1987
Victim: Carl Fodge

Synopsis: Unsolved homicide
A landlord found Carl Fodge, 65, beaten to death in his East Main Street apartment.
Days later, city police investigators made two arrests in connection with the murder and took the case to a grand jury. But the grand jury didn't indict the pair, who aren't being identified because charges weren't filed, and they walked free.
The case didn't have DNA evidence linking the pair to the scene, which is why authorities think a grand jury didn't return an indictment, said Jim Toddy, an investigator with the Klamath County District Attorney's Office.
Toddy, whose main responsibilities now include helping prosecutors prepare for trials, has acquired several cases from law enforcement agencies with the hope they could be solved. The Fodge case was one of them.
He said investigators formed a theory on the man's murder - they believe a group of people was visiting him at his home when someone or some people attacked him with a club. Robbery was a possible motive.
Toddy said the case could still be solved if investigators send old evidence to a crime lab and link a suspect to the scene.

Slippery Slope

As we slip quietly into socialism, there is still an "irate, tireless minority" that fights to maintain the hard-fought freedoms given to us by those brave patriots who came before us. If we never, ever give up, they can never defeat us! Godspeed

Just thinking...... Is United States becoming United 'Soviet' States?

When I came to America 24 years ago, a minimum wage was $4.25 an hour and it didn't hurt my family finances nor did I had any problems with it whatsoever -- I was happy to have a job since I didn't speak English and had no work experience at the jobs I held in the beginning. I saw a lots of potentials in the job market and knew that I had to work very hard to make sure that my starting hourly pay would go up as I obtained more experience. My hourly pay was going up year after year and by the time I lived in America for 5 years, I was getting paid $17.78 per hour. Looking back at my first five years living in Virginia, I am very grateful for all my employers for giving me the opportunity to work and to become successful. At that time, my state was controlled by Republicans and Virginian government played small role in the private sector and didn't offer any handouts or freebies, I had to work for my rent, utilities, child care, health insurance, car, gas and house phone expenses. My family didn't depend on the government help and my family didn't complain or debated how fair or unfair the minimum wages are because I knew, it was the starting point -- a point I didn't have back in the former Soviet Union. All I wanted is to be employed and I worked hard to achieve my goal -- financial independence and peaceful family life. In 1995, my husband and I saved enough money to open our first small business and bought our first private home (it looked like a chicken house but we were happy to own a house even as ugly as it was). Everything was going great until I noticed how political winds start shifting and it wasn't for the good. By 2001, Democrats took over state's legislative body, Supreme Court and elected a left-wing Mayor and the Governor. Things started to look worse as government grew bigger which became very intrusive. It didn't take them too long to start imposing huge amount of regulations on the private business owners. The Virginian Democrats start offering free healthcare, childcare, housing, utilities and even free cell phones. It didn't come cheap to those who earned money for a living because our taxes went up dramatically. And to make my point short, Virginia state is now a solid Democratic controlled state and things gotten so bad that after fifteen years in business my ex-husband had to shrink his business due to impossibility to comply with all the government regulations and high taxation. No longer it's profitable to be a private owner -- it's much easier to not to work and live off the government handouts. The ugly irony is that I left communist country because it suffocated private business and punished the success and now, my beloved America is looking more and more like the former Soviet Union.

GUEST OPINION by Pocahontas

Recently while traveling for work I had no time for TV or news papers.
I worked hard during that time my stress level was down, my blood pressure was down and I actually lost weight.  23 pounds in just under three weeks.

I have spent the last two days going over all the news I missed and I have come to the conclusion that we all need a break.  BUT it does not look like we will be getting one any time soon.

Sadly if we all took a break some vile politician would pull something, pass a law, rob us blind or something and we all would have to deal with it.

Truth be told we can not turn our eyes away for a moment.
Hence the internet.
This glorious, horrid thing that keeps our eyes focused on all the disgusting shit going on in the world.

The real reason that the main stream media is being used to distract us from truth.

We grew up trusting the media to a certain point but 40 years ago my grandfather would read the paper from cover to cover.  He would then lay it down and say kids never, never trust anything just because it is written or reported as news.
He would then tell us the story from history of Pulitzer, Hearst and others using the media to whip the country up into a frenzy to start war and action to protect their monetary interests.

We repeatedly have seen over the years the distracting stories that take our eye and ear away from the people who live in the sand and oil filled areas of the world after their people attack, torture and kill our people often holding them hostage for years.
Tehran
Three Marin Corps Barracks bombings
USS Cole
Numerous tourist and missionary kidnappings/hostage takings.
More planes hitting the earth and buildings then I want to name here.

So what is my point.

Do not trust the media.

Find the news and be discerning.

Ask friends who live in the area what is going on.

Then ask their friends in the area who may have a different view.

Taking the time you will find more truth there then you will in the media.
