DEBORAH – Israel’s Holy Lady
Judges 4, 5

 1. Deborah is one of the heroic women of history. She was one of the most talented women of the Bible – a wife, mother, prophetess, judge, poetess, singer, and political leader. Her life is a wonderful illustration of the power that womanhood has to influence society for good. The great influence that Deborah possessed is evident in the fact that all Israel came to her for counsel and judgment.
 2. The life of Deborah is recorded in Judges 4-5. Chapter 4 contains the prose narrative and chapter 5 contains the story in poetry. From these accounts we discover the following facts about Deborah’s life:
a. She was married (4:4). Lappidoth was her husband. Here is an interesting point to ponder.  We would never know of Lappidoth if not for his wife! This is the case today. Many men are honored and respected only because their wives are holy.
 b. She possessed talents (4:4,5).
 c. She had a great faith (4:4,6,14; 5:13).
  d. She is the only woman Judge (4:4). Deborah is the only woman who served God as an official of the State government. Other women served as Queen but they had usurped the role.
  e. She was well respected (4:5). When she asked Barak, a general from Naphtali, to come to her (4:6,14), he did not hesitate.
 f. She confronted wrongs (4:5; 5:14b-17, 23).
 g. She took action to help others (4:9).
  h. She was a prophetess. Only two other women in the Old Testament share this honored designation (Miriam,
 
Exodus 15:20   And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.;
 Huldah,   2 Kings 22:14   So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.
2 Kings 22:15   And she said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,
2 Kings 22:16   Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:
2 Kings 22:17   Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.
2 Kings 22:18   But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the LORD, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard;
2 Kings 22:19   Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD.
2 Kings 22:20   Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.).
 3. Deborah lived in a period of Israel’s history that was tragic. Spirituality was at a low point. The standard of behavior was anarchy. During her time the nation was oppressed by Canaanite rulers (4:1-3). “Oppressed” is the same word used to describe Israeli bondage in Egypt Exodus 3:9   Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.). The oppression of Israel was directly associated with the spiritual decay that had corrupted that nation. Consider some of the causes for Israel’s spiritual decline:
 a. It had failed to give honor to God (Psalms 33:12   Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.).
  b. It had failed to separate herself from evil associations (  1 Corinthians 15:33   Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.).
  c. It had failed to obey God’s rules for life (  Judges 17:6   In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.   Judges 21:25   In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.). It could not distinguish between right and wrong.
 NOTE: In such a tragic time, God used a woman to bring the erring nation back to the right way! Women have the power to correct and restore spirituality or they have the power to propel further deterioration. 
 4. Deborah was a godly woman whose leadership abilities would restore Israel’s security. Look at the following leadership qualities she possessed and discuss how each could help the lady accomplish her task.
 a. She was a woman of wisdom.
  People came to get her advice from distant places. She was recognized as one who possessed sound judgment and level thinking. She could offer counsel that guided the erring nation back toward faithful obedience. How did she gain this “wisdom” (  
Proverbs 1:7   The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction).  Our modern society needs women like Deborah who will arise and call for people to restore their loyalties to God’s directions!
 b. She possessed a keen sense of discernment.
  She looked at Israel’s predicament and knew the nation had erred from God’s will. She did not excuse or rationalize the errors. She had witnessed the decay of morals and the disregard toward God’s commands. She was a mother and homemaker, but she saw the urgency of calling the nation back to God. She could look at the situation and recognize what was God’s will and what was Self’s will.

 c. She believed in the God of heaven.
  Her strength and courage was founded upon God’s power ((cf Josh 1:7ff  I did not know what the cf at the front and the ff at the end ment here so I just looked at Josh 1:7)  
Joshua 1:7   Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.).
 d. She had courage to follow God’s commands.
  It was Deborah’s courage that enabled Barak to defeat the enemies. Had she been reluctant to follow God’s will, the nation would have remained oppressed. Had she not been the example of trust and full obedience, then Israel would not have found blessings. Often in the church’s history, the women kept the congregation faithful or that have led the congregation away from God’s directions! 

 e. She properly used her tongue.
  Deborah used her tongue to speak God’s commands to those who needed encouragement to free themselves from oppression (4:6). She used cheerful, positive words of victory when God’s people faced enemies (4:14). Her words were wisely selected and people traveled far to hear her speak (4:5). Women today can imitate Deborah’s speech! How often have you seen a woman totally destroy her effectiveness as a leader because she failed to use her tongue properly?

 (  1 Timothy 3:11   Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.                                                                                                                                               1 Timothy 5:11   But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
1 Timothy 5:12   Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
1 Timothy 5:13   And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.). Because of the way Deborah used her tongue, she lifted the spirits of those who needed to be faithful to God.
 f. She had wonderful influence.
  Here is the most effective way women “lead” in the Lord’s church. Deborah’s life was lived in such a way that she earned respect from everyone (4:4,5). Her influence led to a “strengthening” of others (4:24a). She was a source of strength to all who came to her. The influence of this godly lady made a significant difference – all became better because Israel restored her faith in God’s will!

 g. She demonstrated wonderful attitudes.
  She possessed an unwavering commitment to do God’s will (4:9). She was willing to do whatever was necessary to strengthen and encourage others to become active (4:8-9). She was aware that her efforts would actually “help” the Lord (5:23b). She demonstrated a love for God that was stronger than her love for others (5:31).

 h. She was a source for “peace.”
  Because of this godly lady, peace resulted! Because of her presence, peace existed in the land. How wonderful to see women today who imitate Deborah and urge all to obey God so there will be peace (  
Matthew 5:9   Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.). How tragic to see congregations torn asunder and peace and harmony ruined by discord because certain women fail to imitate Deborah! The one blemish on the Philippian congregation was the disruption caused by two women (  Philippians 4:2   I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.).
 I. She was active in God’s service.
  Deborah was effective because she was active. Women can never become the kind of leader that Deborah was until they become active in the Lord’s church. 

 5. The practical lessons from Deborah’s life emphasize the critical role that women have in the Lord’s Church today. 
 a. God’s Cause needs women! (5:6-7a).
  Women are vital to the existence of the Lord’s Church; to the faithfulness of the Lord’s Church; to the spread of the Lord’s Church; to the peace and harmony of the local church. Far too many women have not practiced their leadership role in the church. Congregations who have women that are active, willing, and harmonious are congregations that are growing and accomplishing great things for God!

 b. God’s Cause needs women to overcome crisis! (4:14b).
  When the situation appeared hopeless, a woman arose and encouraged the men to overcome. Had Deborah not arisen then Israel would have never found victory. Women have the power to speak encouraging words to male leaders and to stimulate victory! When congregations face crises, the leaders need the women to speak encouragingly to them so they will remain dedicated to God’s will. Whenever a congregation is caught in a crisis, the women can either help it overcome by encouraging the men to stick to God’s Word, or hasten the destruction by criticizing and gossiping. 

 c. God’s Cause needs women to offer service! (5:7b, 9).
  Women must be involved in the local congregation because their efforts actually “help” the Lord! (5:23b).

JUDGES 4
1] And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.
[2] And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
[3] And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
[4] And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
[5] And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
[6] And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
[7] And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
[8] And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
[9] And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
[10] And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
[11] Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
[12] And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
[13] And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.
[14] And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
[15] And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
[16] But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
[17] Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
[18] And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.
[19] And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
[20] Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and inquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.
[21] Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
[22] And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
[23] So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
[24] And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.

Judg.5

[1] Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
[2] Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
[3] Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.
[4] LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water.
[5] The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.
[6] In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.
[7] The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
[8] They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
[9] My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.
[10] Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.
[11] They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.
[12] Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.
[13] Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.
[14] Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
[15] And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.
[16] Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
[17] Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches.
[18] Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field.
[19] The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
[20] They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
[21] The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
[22] Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.
[23] Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.
[24] Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
[25] He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.
[26] She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
[27] At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
[28] The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
[29] Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,
[30] Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil?
[31] So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

We should pray for our rulers or leaders

When this was originally posted I and one of my guest writers was personally attacked and unfriended on face book by many people.
If it offends you to pray for the people that lead you then maybe you should take another look at your self.  We are only human and we all make mistakes and need the love of God.
I am not making excuses ....
If God can come to earth as Christ and save us all from the separation between us and God by taking our sins upon Himself.....then who are we to decide who is worthy of the Saviour.  It is NOT our job to decide.
Pray people.

We should pray for our rulers.
      1 Timothy 2:2-3 [1] I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone -- [2] for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. [3] This is good, and pleases God our Savior, [4] who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
It is to be feared that most Christians today are grievously disobedient to God at this point. The present fashion is to rail at our rulers ( yes I know Obummer is not a ruler ). This is in direct disobedience to God's Word:
      Jude 1:8-9 [8] In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings. [9] But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
      2 Peter 2:10-11 [10] This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the sinful nature and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, these men are not afraid to slander celestial beings; [11] yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not bring slanderous accusations against such beings in the presence of the Lord.
      1 Peter 2:17 Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.
   Christians can accomplish far more for "good government" by praying for than by railing at the powers that be. 

  We should pray for those who use us spitefully and persecute us.
      Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
      Matthew 5:44 [44] But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
      Luke 23:34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.
      Acts 7:60 Then he fell on his knees and cried out, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them." When he had said this, he fell asleep.
   We have a special obligation to pray toward those who do us wrong.

I'm not disputing the Hip Chick here, but the US Presidency is not in any way intended to be a seat of a Ruler. That position exists to serve us, not himself. A point he would do well to get through that thick head of his while he's looking down his nose at us, his employers.

I am going to have to take exception to her comment of "...praying for rather than railing at...". These people need to be reminded why they are in those positions. No boss walks around praying for his employees, he directs them. Politicians these days are in dire need of being railed upon, shirking to nothing but prayer is not going to fix this mess. We must also act.

Hip Chick also said something I'm taking a little out of context here about slander. First, it's not slander if it's true. To put the responsibilty for rebuking someone with your own mouth on God is cowardice. To simply address an issue,... without dangerous rage and with intelligence and strength, is a proper thing to do in this case. Railing with stupid mob mentality is reprehensible. BUT, these people need a course correction and not one guided with kid gloves. There is nothing wrong with firm truth. Spare the rod...

In short, I strongly disagree with the sentiment of passive prayer to affect change. This is a time for serious action and accountability.

I agree with you but think that prayer should always be the first response. The Lord wants us to NOT lean to our own understanding and will inspire and give wisdom that we do not have on our own.

Sure, pray first, get the right, balanced focus, and strength. Always before action, make sure you're on the right path. But do NOT stop there and expect a magic trick to follow. We have to take the action if we do not want to be run over and destroyed. Prayer alone is not going to fix it. 
  


After reading comments to my friends on Facebook who were kind enough to share my blog I personally have to say I agree with Sarah except on the prayer alone wont fix it.  
God is all powerful and can change anything.
We can ask but sometimes the answer is NO.  
Will we accept it if it is no?


But Sarah is right and sometimes we must act.  Maybe its part of GOD's plan.
Godly correction must sometimes come from the people who elected the official.  
Many of our elected officials have gone so far astray it is going to take a big rod from many of their constituents to correct them.
We must pray for correction but we must also act for that correction and stop complaining to each other and start calling, emailing and faxing our elected officials and telling them just HOW they are to act, and vote in committee, congress, senate, and represent us while in office. 

I think Debora of Judges 4 and 5 is a good example of this and have used her to call our country back from the brink.

They have a lot of bitter lawmakers who have been thrown out of DC, that are willing to stab America in the back on the way out.

Also, far too many Americans who support the enforcement of our existing immigration and border laws are politically asleep from the Holiday and overconfident due to the recent elections!

We must all be ready to do everything politically possible to stop this Dream Act Amnesty next week!

CHRISTmas? JESUSmas! by Mary Kay Hodges-Cates




Christmas It is not about shopping till you drop. 
It is not about all the holiday movies that come out. 
It is not about spending till we have a gift for everyone we know.
It is not about over indulging till we no longer fit our clothes.

It is about a baby born 2,043 years ago. 
Born to save the world from all of these SINS and more.
There is no better gift you can receive and no one else can give the one gift  HE has offered.

You do not have to shop for it.
You do not have to see it at a movie.

 I heard that someone actually tried to calculate how much it would cost to give the gifts named in the classic Christmas song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas." The grand total came to about $15,000. 

Some items were affordable, like a partridge in a pear tree for $34.99. Six turtledoves will run you somewhere around $50. Six geese-a-laying will cost around $150.
But the price takes off when you add 11 pipers piping. That is $1,000 right there. Then there are the 12 drummers drumming. With current union scale for musicians, they will run you another $1,000.
The price really soars when you get 12 lords-a-leaping. We are talking $3,000 for them. Granted, I don't know where you would find them, but they are very expensive.
Still, the real message of Christmas is not the gifts that we give to each other. Rather, it is a reminder of the gift that God has given to each of us. It is the only gift that truly keeps on giving, so I want to point out four things about it.
First, it is surprising. When Christmas rolls around, you often try to figure out if certain people have bought that gift you really wanted. Maybe you already know what they bought, because they didn't hide it very well. Or maybe you uncovered it by accident-or maybe not.
But when the day comes and you open the present, you have to pretend you're surprised. Yet all along, you knew what it was.
God's gift to us, however, was a complete surprise. It was not expected, and as you examine it more carefully, you realize how great a gift it actually was.
Second, God's gift came to us in the humblest of wrappings. What would you think if you saw a gift under your Christmas tree that was wrapped in newspaper and tied up with string? At first, you would probably assume that a guy wrapped it.
But think about God's gift to us. Jesus was not born in a palace of gold; He was born in a stable. He was clothed with rags. He was laid in a feeding trough.
Yet these things do not, in any way, diminish the story of Christ's birth. If anything, they help us realize the great sacrifice God made for us. God's gift to humanity, the ultimate gift of eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ, came in the simplest and humblest of wrappings.

Life is about what happens beyond the grave. Life is about knowing the God who made you and who gave you the greatest gift you will ever receive.

This day of thanksgiving was established for our nation by George Washington in his first presidential proclamation, in which he called the nation to set aside a day for giving thanks to that "great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be…."

Furthermore President Washington acknowledged that he was joined by the Congress in his appeal to the nation:

This presidential proclamation represented, in unequivocal terms, the government's call upon the people of this nation to acknowledge and give thanks to God alone for his many and abundant blessings. These were not benign religious platitudes but absolute statements reflecting a particular view of life and reality that acknowledged there is one God—the God who has revealed himself in Scripture, in nature, and in the person of Jesus Christ. It is this God the nation once acknowledged and it is this God, the one true God, the people of this nation have turned against and today refuse to acknowledge and serve.

Seventy-four years later, in the midst of the great Civil War, President Lincoln would issue a similar call to the nation, acknowledging the nation's many blessings from the Lord, "…who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy." President Lincoln, like our first president, would once again call the nation to national thanksgiving and repentance with these words:

And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience…and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and Union.

America, in its folly, has been in the process of severing its national identity and dependence from the God who has given it birth and blessed it for so long. Therefore, it seems to me that we might be well served to recall the proclamations of these great men set aside for this Thanksgiving holiday and once again give thanks to Almighty God for his longsuffering patience and mercy toward this nation and humbly repent of our national rebellion and wanton disregard for all that is holy and just.

This national repentance begins in the church, which has seemingly lost its way—abandoned (practically speaking) its first love and so often conformed to the world. On this Thanksgiving Day may we acknowledge the many and abundant blessings of our Father, accompanied by a deep and sorrowful repentance for our individual, corporate, and national sins. This, my dear brothers and sisters, is our only hope and it is for this real hope and the promise of forgiveness that we can give thanks indeed! 
May the Lord, in his great mercy, pour out his spirit upon you, your families, his church, and this nation this Thanksgiving Day.

I was a bit depressed last night.
I lost my youngest brother in April from a self inflicted gun shot wound. 
Police say accidental.
Coroner says suicide. 
Mom says he was murdered.
All I know is that his 2 year old daughter is deprived of growing up with her daddy holding her hand.

We were very close.  I was present at his delivery and was the first person to touch him.  My mother even consulted me on his name because my step father was out of town hunting.
My brother over the years thought he was actually my birth child and asked me at least 4 times.
In 2008 I organized the family so that we all were together at Mom's before I underwent a double mastectomy and battled for my life against breast cancer.  I had been told after thoughtful prayer that it was the last time we would all be together.  I just assumed I was not going to win my battle or worse we were going to lose mom.  I even told my brothers we do not know what the future holds and we need to see each other again.   They all agreed to make time while we were there to hang out and love on each other.  It was probably the BEST days we ever had together.
When I arrived my brother came out and hugged me and said "Well get in there and meet your granddaughter!"  I had to laugh.  Mom was standing right there and I looked at my kids both young teens and said "Is there something you two need to tell me?"  We all just laughed!

A few moments into my reminiscing I realized it is 23 anniversary of my fathers death tomorrow.

I then had the wonderful realization that out of 10 kids only 5 of us made it through our 20s. 6 of us through our teens.
2 siblings in a car accident
1 to a long term vegetative state
1 to alcoholism
1 to gun shot

And this was all in AMERICA.  I know this happens everywhere but if our country is going to be strong and survive we need to have more children making it into adulthood.
We need to all be having children and raising them to become GODLY adults.

Please rethink your choices  and look at your decision in the light of what those kids contributed 100 years into our future.

A PRAYER

Heavenly Father,I come to you as humble as I know how. I confess my sins, those known and unknown. Lord , you know I am not perfect and I fall short everyday of my life, but I want to take time out to say thank you for your mercy.Thank you for my home, food, life, family, friends, and everything I do...and have.

We just have to stop flying people.!!!!

 I suggest everyone boycott CNN because of there extreme LEFT agenda.

If there is no one to check then none of them will have jobs.

Think before you BUY PINK.

Everyone loves to support national breast cancer awareness.
I mean COME ON women need to get checked regularly and be aware.

But the last time you bought that cute pink hat or purse or anything that said a percent of our profits from the sale if this item go to support breast cancer research.


Did you ask for documentation on how much of your money went to support that?
Did you ask for proof afterwords that it was donated to breast cancer research or helping patents get treatment?



Of course not.  You trusted the company to make it right.

The American Cancer Society has responded to me at different levels in the organization that they have never received a donation that was to of come from any of these promotions.


I also contacted three major cancer research clinics in the United States and they all said they have no record of ever receiving funds from one of these promotions.


So I ask you the consumer to never let these promotions be the deciding factor in a purchase because it looks like your money is not making it to the proposed cancer site.

I know from personal experiance that cancer paitents need more help with fund for gas and bills.
If you want to help them out with a donation just call the American Cancer Society and tell them I want to make a donation of a gift card for gas for cancer patients.  They will gladly tell you where to send it.

Such a time is near at hand again. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this Army -- and this Marine Corps, This Air Force, This Navy and the National Guard and police units of these sovereign states.
Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, fire-fighters, and veterans who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic … and meant it. We won’t “just follow orders.”
Below is our declaration of orders we will NOT obey because we will consider them unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral violations of the natural rights of the people. Such orders would be acts of war against the American people by their own government, and thus acts of treason. We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. Recognizing that we each swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and affirming that we are guardians of the Republic, of the principles in our Declaration of Independence, and of the rights of our people, we affirm and declare the following:
1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people.
The attempt to disarm the people on April 19, 1775 was the spark of open conflict in the American Revolution. That vile attempt was an act of war, and the American people fought back in justified, righteous self-defense of their natural rights. Any such order today would also be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason. We will not make war on our own people, and we will not commit treason by obeying any such treasonous order.
Nor will we assist, or support any such attempt to disarm the people by other government entities, either state or federal.

In addition, we affirm that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to preserve the military power of the people so that they will, in the last resort, have effective final recourse to arms and to the God of Hosts in the face of tyranny. Accordingly, we oppose any and all further infringements on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. In particular we oppose a renewal of the misnamed “assault-weapons” ban or the enactment of H.R. 45 (which would register and track gun owners like convicted pedophiles).
2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects -- such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the use of “writs of assistance,” which were essentially warrantless searches because there was no requirement of a showing of probable cause to a judge, and the first fiery embers of American resistance were born in opposition to those infamous writs. The Founders considered all warrantless searches to be unreasonable and egregious. It was to prevent a repeat of such violations of the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects that the Fourth Amendment was written.
We expect that sweeping warrantless searches of homes and vehicles, under some pretext, will be the means used to attempt to disarm the people.
3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to trial by military tribunal.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the denial of the right to jury trial, the use of admiralty courts (military tribunals) instead, and the application of the laws of war to the colonists. After that experience, and being well aware of the infamous Star Chamber in English history, the Founders ensured that the international laws of war would apply only to foreign enemies, not to the American people. Thus, the Article III Treason Clause establishes the only constitutional form of trial for an American, not serving in the military, who is accused of making war on his own nation. Such a trial for treason must be before a civilian jury, not a tribunal.
The international laws of war do not trump our Bill of Rights. We reject as illegitimate any such claimed power, as did the Supreme Court in Ex Parte Milligan (1865). Any attempt to apply the laws of war to American civilians, under any pretext, such as against domestic “militia” groups the government brands “domestic terrorists,” is an act of war and an act of treason.
4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state, or to enter with force into a state, without the express consent and invitation of that state’s legislature and governor.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the attempt “to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power” by disbanding the Massachusetts legislature and appointing General Gage as “military governor.” The attempt to disarm the people of Massachusetts during that martial law sparked our Revolution. Accordingly, the power to impose martial law – the absolute rule over the people by a military officer with his will alone being law – is nowhere enumerated in our Constitution.
Further, it is the militia of a state and of the several states that the Constitution contemplates being used in any context, during any emergency within a state, not the standing army.
The imposition of martial law by the national government over a state and its people, treating them as an occupied enemy nation, is an act of war. Such an attempted suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights voids the compact with the states and with the people.
5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty and declares the national government to be in violation of the compact by which that state entered the Union.
In response to the obscene growth of federal power and to the absurdly totalitarian claimed powers of the Executive, upwards of 20 states are considering, have considered, or have passed courageous resolutions affirming states rights and sovereignty.
Those resolutions follow in the honored and revered footsteps of Jefferson and Madison in their Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, and likewise seek to enforce the Constitution by affirming the very same principles of our Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights that we Oath Keepers recognize and affirm.
Chief among those principles is that ours is a dual sovereignty system, with the people of each state retaining all powers not granted to the national government they created, and thus the people of each state reserved to themselves the right to judge when the national government they created has voided the compact between the states by asserting powers never granted.
Upon the declaration by a state that such a breach has occurred, we will not obey orders to force that state to submit to the national government.
6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the blockade of Boston, and the occupying of that city by the British military, under martial law. Once hostilities began, the people of Boston were tricked into turning in their arms in exchange for safe passage, but were then forbidden to leave. That confinement of the residents of an entire city was an act of war.
Such tactics were repeated by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto, and by the Imperial Japanese in Nanking, turning entire cities into death camps. Any such order to disarm and confine the people of an American city will be an act of war and thus an act of treason.
7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
Mass, forced internment into concentration camps was a hallmark of every fascist and communist dictatorship in the 20th Century. Such internment was unfortunately even used against American citizens of Japanese descent during World War II. Whenever a government interns its own people, it treats them like an occupied enemy population. Oppressive governments often use the internment of women and children to break the will of the men fighting for their liberty – as was done to the Boers, to the Jewish resisters in the Warsaw Ghetto, and to the Chechens, for example.

Such a vile order to forcibly intern Americans without charges or trial would be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason, regardless of the pretext used. We will not commit treason, nor will we facilitate or support it.”NOT on Our Watch!”
8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control” during any emergency, or under any other pretext. We will consider such use of foreign troops against our people to be an invasion and an act of war.
During the American Revolution, the British government enlisted the aid of Hessian mercenaries in an attempt to subjugate the rebellious American people. Throughout history, repressive regimes have enlisted the aid of foreign troops and mercenaries who have no bonds with the people.
Accordingly, as the militia of the several states are the only military force contemplated by the Constitution, in Article I, Section 8, for domestic keeping of the peace, and as the use of even our own standing army for such purposes is without such constitutional support, the use of foreign troops and mercenaries against the people is wildly unconstitutional, egregious, and an act of war.
We will oppose such troops as enemies of the people and we will treat all who request, invite, and aid those foreign troops as the traitors they are.
9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.
One of the causes of the American Revolution was the seizure and forfeiture of American ships, goods, and supplies, along with the seizure of American timber for the Royal Navy, all in violation of the people’s natural right to their property and to the fruits of their labor. The final spark of the Revolution was the attempt by the government to seize powder and cannon stores at Concord.
Deprivation of food has long been a weapon of war and oppression, with millions intentionally starved to death by fascist and communist governments in the 20th Century alone.
Accordingly, we will not obey or facilitate orders to confiscate food and other essential supplies from the people, and we will consider all those who issue or carry out such orders to be the enemies of the people.
10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.
There would have been no American Revolution without fiery speakers and writers such as James Otis, Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, and Sam Adams “setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

Tyrants know that the pen of a man such as Thomas Paine can cause them more damage than entire armies, and thus they always seek to suppress the natural rights of speech, association, and assembly. Without freedom of speech, the people will have no recourse but to arms. Without freedom of speech and conscience, there is no freedom.
Therefore, we will not obey or support any orders to suppress or violate the right of the people to speak, associate, worship, assemble, communicate, or petition government for the redress of grievances.

The above list is not exhaustive but we do consider them to be clear tripwires – they form our “line in the sand,” and if we receive such orders, we will not obey them. Further, we will know that the time for another American Revolution is nigh. If you the people decide that you have no recourse, and such a revolution comes, at that time, not only will we NOT fire upon our fellow Americans who righteously resist such egregious violations of their God given rights, we will join them in fighting against those who dare attempt to enslave them.

Oath Keepers is a non partisan association of currently serving military, peace officers, fire-fighters, and veterans who will fulfill our oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.
Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and not to any political party. In the long-standing tradition of the U.S. military, we are apolitical. We don’t care if unlawful orders come from a Democrat or a Republican, or if the violation is bi-partisan. We will not obey unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law. We won’t “just follow orders.” Our motto: “Not on Our Watch!” or to put it even more succinctly, in the words of  101st Airborne Commander General Anthony McAuliffe at the Battle of the Bulge, “NUTS!”
There is at this time a debate within the ranks of the military regarding their oath. Some mistakenly believe they must follow any order the President issues.  But many others do understand that their loyalty is to the Constitution and to the people, and understand what that means.
The mission of Oath Keepers is to vastly increase their numbers.
